MSCCN / Vet Connect Jobs Success Story

MSCCN was informed that a war wounded applicant who was assisted
by MSCCN / VetConnectJobs was hired for one of the hot jobs advertised
on the MSCCN website. Matthew (on left in picture above) told us his
personal mission was to help other warriors and their family members on
their journey to recovery. He said the Community Outreach position was
the answer to his prayers, knowing it would change his life and give
him the opportunity to continue to serve his fellow Marines. You can
read his very special success story here.

Job Search Success!
Dustin W. heard about the MSCCN from
Marine Corps Family Services and
uploaded her resume on the MSCCN
website in early June while in the midst
of relocating from Marietta, GA to the
Northern VA area. She quickly took ad-
vantage of our services and applied to
several positions listed on our website,
including a position at NMFA - National
Military Family Association - in Alexandria,
VA for a Legislative Administrative Assistant.
Her June 15th interview went very well and
Dustin emailed us that she loved the people
and the NMFA organization. On July 6th,
Dustin started her new position with NMFA -
not in the position for which she originally
applied, but as the Youth Initiatives Assistant.
Dustin absolutely loves her job and says "finding MSCCN fresh after moving
to the DC area alone (her husband is currently deployed to Afghanistan)
was an absolute blessing".
MSCCN thanks NMFA for notifying us of their job openings and Marine Corps
Family Services for sending Dustin our way ... teamwork makes things happen!
We are so pleased that we could assist Dustin in her successful job search
and that hearing Dustin's story encourages other spouses as they face their
job search challenges.

CONVERGYS UPDATES!!
December Update
Convergys has hired another MSCCN military spouse and is currently conducting
Customer Service interviews for Jan. 2009 employment. Over 50 military spouses
have been identified and selected to be interviewed over the next four to five
weeks. Convergys' goal is to conduct a training class in early 2009 that consists
solely of military spouses. As of December 18, Convergys placed five MSCCN
military spouses in work-from-home positions.
November Update
MSCCN and Convergys had a phenomenal turn out with the Customer Service
requisition. As of 11/13/2008 Convergys had over 100 military spouses apply
to the "work from home" positions advertised on our site.
Four applicants have been hired with another 12 in progress. There are
approximately 57 new applicants still under review. This is great news for
for our military spouse job seekers. MSCCN sends our "congratulations" to
the new hires and we wish everyone continued success.
Convergys End of the Year Application Process
Convergys will be actively screening applicants for Home Agent positions
throughout November and December. New home agents will not begin their
positions and training until January 2009. We will be communicating this
information to all candidates.
Note: Applicants who applied to Convergys but did not pass the test should
receive notification via email as to why they did not pass or they may need
to do an upgrade to their computers to support the "work from home" dynamic
that Convergys is looking for in work from home employees.

Annalise Freling
Annalise is the offspring of a military service
member who was referred to the MSCCN. She
sent a cover letter and resume to the MSCCN
and requested advice for pursuing an internship
in legal enterprises. MSCCN quickly coached
Annalise on resume enhancements and referred
her to resources in her local area.
Annalise quickly reported back to MSCCN that
the resume advice was perfect and that seven
out of the eight employers called her for an
interview. She accepted a position with The
People's Court in New York City and will start
in mid-January.

MSCCN Applicant Virtual Job Placement at Gant Travel
A message from MSCCN President and CEO, Deb Kloeppel:
MSCCN holds a very successful job placement record regarding our MSCCN military
applicant workforce. Recently, MSCCN began to place our military spouse applicants
into virtual corporate jobs. I’d like to introduce our most recent "virtual" job placement
success story, Melissa Connell.

Operations Manager
In the Words of Melissa Connell, Army Spouse, Fort Campbell
I have been a travel agent for 12 years prior to my husbands’ first deployment. I stopped
working in 2002 due to starting a family and deployment. We have moved every year
since 2004 and I could not commit to a company. I then decided to pursue a work from
home position.
While searching I came across the MSCCN web site and posted my resume. A few months
later I received a call about a position with a company out of Chicago to work virtually
from home. Approximately 2 weeks later I was offered the position.
I believe that if not for the help of MSCCN I would not have found this opportunity.
Thank you!

MSCCN Applicant Successfully Placed at Concentra
A message from MSCCN President and CEO, Deb Kloeppel:
I am proud to announce the job placement of our MSCCN applicant, San Hains, into the
Concentra organization. Hains was born and raised in Louisiana, and is a proud, prior
military servicemember of the United States Coast Guard. Hains came to MSCCN with
excellent X-Ray technician experience and credentials.
Our MSCCN Job Placement Specialist, Celeste Snyder, submitted Hains resume directly
to a Concentra recruiter in December of 2007, and stayed involved within Concentra’s
hiring process of Mr Hains during a 2-month timeframe. In February 2008, Concentra
interviewed Hains and the rest is history, as they say. “I tried Monster, as well as all
of the usual job boards and employment services available to the military,” said Hains,
“MSCCN was the only organization that actually called me and offered personal
one-on-one guidance into my job request.”
“I knew the career field I wanted to be in and I knew the organization I wanted to work
for, I found an open job position from the MSCCN web site that satisfied all of my
employment wish list items,” continued Hains. “MSCCN worked for 2 months diligently
to get me hired with Concentra. MSCCN never gave up.”
Hains is gainfully employed at Concentra to this very day.

Feedback on the MSCCN and CAI Training/Certification Program
Jessica T. Moore-Tyson's Comments:
I am a proud Marine spouse from the Camp Lejeune, NC area.
I really appreciate the hard work and dedication that MSCCN shows
military spouses.
The CAI training that I received allowed me to obtain a much sought
after credential and
opened an entirely new career field to me. As a result of this training,
I was contacted
by the Homeowner Associations of North Carolina, which helped me
make important
contacts in this field and alerted me to upcoming career opportunities.
What I enjoyed most about my experience with MSCCN
was meeting all of the other
spouses, and being able to share in the challenges and rewards of
being a military spouse.
The services provided by MSCCN are invaluable to military families
and I am proud to
associate myself with this group of dedicated professionals.

Meet
Wilmer and Sandra Ferrer
Sandra Ferrer’s Comments:
As a reservist spouse, I do not face all of the same
difficulties that an active duty spouse does but we do
have similar situations that we share.
One of those situations is deployment and activation.
Wilmer was activated and sent to Iraq for a 15-month
tour.
